Water Street Studios has teamed up with the Batavia Public Library to provide area residents with high quality art classes and experiences. This includes adult art workshops, talks and demonstrations by Water Street Studios artists, exhibits, and other events.

Adult Workshops:

Introduction to Calligraphy: Thursday, July 20th, 7-8 pm

Participants will learn calligraphy basics in this hands-on class. We will explore the Chancery Cursive hand using calligraphy markers and parchment paper.


Hand Stitched Journals: Wednesday, August 30th, 7-8 pm

Learn introductory book binding skills while creating a beautiful hand stitched journal with Water Street Studios’ artist Sabrina Martin. 

Artist Talks: The Artistic Process

Tuesday, May 23rd, 7-8 pm

Kevin Hunter, Painter
Award winning artist Kevin Hunter has experience in drawing, painting, illustration, and web design. He currently concentrates on portrait and landscape painting. Hunter discusses and demonstrates his work.

Thursday, June 22nd, 7-8 pm

Lisa Dienst-Thomas, Metal Jewelry Designer
Lisa, creator of Lisa’s Pieces, talks about designing jewelry and working with various materials. She will also demonstrate her processes.
Monday, July 24th, 7-8 pm
Artist Jim Jenkins, Metal Sculpture
Jim Jenkins creates curious sculptures that combine form with function. His recent public works are featured at the entrance of the Santori Public Library in Aurora and at the St. Charles Library. He is an artist-in-residence at Fermilab and keeps his studio at Water Street Studios. Learn about the design process of this eclectic artist/inventor.
Thursday, Aug 31, 7-8 pm
Artist Victoria Belz, Flameworked Glass Artist
Victoria Belz creates stunning glass art used in both jewelry and 3D art, and will demonstrate the process of creating lampwork glass beads in the old Venetian style. Her studio is at Water Street Studios where she also teaches beadmaking and other glass jewelry classes.
