Lisa Dienst-Thomas grew up always tinkering and creating. Sometimes knitting, crocheting or sewing with her Grandmother. Other times building stuff or dismantling appliances with her Mom’s encouragement. As a teen Lisa created many of her own fashion forward unique clothes. After one session in an overbooked and “under-tooled” night class- Lisa found her focus- jewelry. Jewelry design and fabrication has been her passion ever since. Lisa creates Art Jewelry; mostly sterling silver, copper and glass one piece at a time. Mixed metals and one of a kind fused glass add to the eclectic contemporary feel. Rich textures and colors accentuate each distinct work.
Lisa has owned her art jewelry business Lisa’s Pieces for 28 years. Lisa has photos of her jewelry published in several books along with numerous write ups in local newspapers. Lisa has been a resident artist at Water Street Studios since its inception in 2009. Lisa teaches a wide range of jewelry classes at Water Street. Lisa is grateful to her students who drive her in new directions both in teaching and her own work. Lisa owns 17 blow torches. Lisa won best of show for accessories In Water Street Studios Runway show On som bel in 2013. Lisa is the self-proclaimed goodwill ambassador for Water Street Studios specializing in tours and promoting classes.
