17th Anniversary Members Show

This is a wonderful chance to share and celebrate art with others. This exhibit runs from September 11th - October 3rd. Join us and save the date for the Second Friday Gallery Opening Reception on September 11th, 6:00-9:00pm.

Submissions are open to current WSS members and affiliates only. To be eligible, you must be one of the following:

• Annual Member

• Resident Artist

• Clay Maker

• Artist Collective member

• School of Art Instructor

Please take a moment to read over and familiarize yourself with the artwork submission guidelines as some may have changed from our last show.

3D ART GUIDELINES

• You may submit up to two (2) pieces. We will display at least one (1).

• If your piece consists of multiple parts, all parts must fit together on a single pedestal.

• Your piece must stand securely on its own on a pedestal or on the floor. We will provide a pedestal unless we notify you otherwise.

• Label your artwork using the provided Artist Identification Form and tape it to the front where it can be easily seen. The Artist Identification form will be provided via email after notice of acceptance.

2D ART GUIDELINES

• You may submit up to two (2) pieces. We will hang at least one (1).

• If any of your pieces measures more than 36 inches in any dimension, you are limited to one (1) submission total.

• No piece may exceed 48 inches in any dimension.

HANGING REQUIREMENTS (2D Artists please read):

• Artwork must arrive ready to hang. Canvas does not need to be framed, but must have picture-hanging wire securely attached across the back. Wire should be strung between two D-ring hooks or screw eyes, not saw-tooth hangers.

• Label your artwork using the provided Artist Identification Form and tape it to the front where it can be easily seen. The Artist Identification form will be provided via email after notice of acceptance.

PRINTS (Optional)

We welcome artists who would like to offer prints for sale, separate from their main gallery submission.

What to know:

• Prints will be available for purchase during Second Friday and throughout the full run of the exhibition.

• Any prints that do not sell must be picked up after the show closes.

PRINT GUIDELINES:

‍ ‍Size:

• Prints must measure at least 8 inches on their shortest side.

• Prints may not exceed 24 inches on their longest side.

• (This size range allows prints to be displayed upright and browsed easily in our print bins.)

Packaging:

• Each print must be placed in a clear plastic or cellophane sleeve.

• Each print must have a cardboard or chipboard backing insert to keep it firm and protected.

Labeling:

• Write on the back of each print: price, title, and your name.

OTHER NOTES:

• Prints do not need to match the work you have on exhibit.

• Prints must remain in the gallery for the full duration of the exhibit.

• Prints are subject to gallery commission. (See the Digital Gallery Waiver.)

• Prints are to be picked up at the end of the exhibit.

IMPORTANT DATES

• Exhibition Runs: September 11 – October 3

• Submissions Open: Friday, June 26

• Submissions Close: Sunday, August 23 (No late submissions will be accepted.)

• Acceptance Notifications: Friday, August 28 by end of day.

• Artwork Drop-Off: Sunday, September 6, 12-4pm

• Opening Reception: Friday, September 11, 6-9pm

• Artwork Pick-Up: Sunday, October 4, 12-4pm (Please add this to your calendar. Artwork must be picked up promptly on this date)

ADDITIONAL POLICIES

PROTECTIVE BARRIERS (3D Artists — please read):

• Water Street Studios does not supply protective barriers such as rope or display cases. If you would like a barrier around your piece, you must get approval from the Gallery Committee Chair before the artwork drop-off date.

INSTALLATION:

• WSS reserves the right to install accepted work in the placement and arrangement best suited to the exhibition, security of each piece and in compliance with . All work must remain on display for the full run of the show.

• By submitting to this show, you agree to all of the terms above including artwork pick-up and drop-off dates.
